Until then, here is a message from George to our church family:

“It’s been an outstanding journey, so far

By now you might have heard about some change coming to the RCC community so we wanted to give you a chance to know a little about us and why we are “all-in” to serve RCC and the Reading area.11402495_10205488625709856_996233325001398131_o

Before we even met, Denise and I were hungry to know the reality of life in God and committed to being real disciples of Jesus. The way we’ve chosen to live has led us into lots of good, and sometimes challenging, experiences. We continue to be amazed at the unfolding story of redemption in people’s lives and have been honored to play a small part through our work in pastoral ministry, community engagement, education, and business.

As we’ve tasted the humility of the leaders and better understood the unique calling Father has given RCC, we are fueled to join with you in ministry and seeing life come from brokenness. When we met and shared with the elders, the advisory team, and your talented staff, our hearts resonated with the stories of what He is doing in at RCC. Now we understand some of what Paul meant when he said to the Romans, “I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith” (1:11-12).

BTW, we like to share about our lives, especially what God has done for our family and us. Pictures might even be involved. Hey, feel free to do the same, we won’t mind at all.

We look forward to joining you soon.”

Please feel free to take a moment to welcome George with a word or prayer in the reply section below.

    George & Denise,
Congratulations on joining the RCC family! Your work at Evangelical Theological Seminary in Myerstown was superlative and God has used you to bring many lives to serve God in amazing ways. You are the reason that this old biker settled down to complete seminary at ETS. Through your Christ-like service, you extended Father’s grace in a way that makes me and others experience His love and welcome. I know you will continue to do the same wherever you go. I am so glad to hear that God is continuing to call His faithful man to serve the people He loves so dearly.
Carry on good and faithful son, the Lord has need of you at RCC.

    Your brother in Christ,
    Sean Dougherty

      Thanks, Sean,

You are a kind and generous man! It is your courageous heart for God, and the great hearts of many of your professors, that gave you success at ETS. I am glad to be part of your story and your life and I will always remember that first day we met and Jesus showed up!

We look forward to watching and partnering with Father’s work in Reading, PA!

      Peace.

      Come visit when you can!

    George!
My husband Gary and I read this post and both were thrilled by what we read! We have been praying for about 2 years for someone of your skill set to join the RCC family and we praise God that He led you to our sending church. Although you probably will only see us occasionally, as RCC sent us out as missionaries, we cannot wait to meet you and your family!

      Hi Lillian and Gary,

We would love to hear more about your work in missions. Thanks for praying us into RCC. It’s fun to think that someone “prayed you into” your work too. So much happens through the prayers of the saints in our current generation and in generations that have gone before.

We look forward to meeting you.

      Peace.

      Thanks, David.

Your comment reminded me of one of my favorite stories in the gospels; when Jesus was asleep during the storm and the disciples ended up asking, “what kind of man is this, that even the winds and waves obey him?”. By His grace, we’ll see some things that will make us joyfully wonder too.

We appreciate your prayers as we join with Vince, Chris, and so many others who are working hard to discern Father’s will and to do what He says to do.

      Peace.

      Hi Jeff & Karalee,

We look forward to it also. When we pastored one of our churches, people often said two things about our fellowship. We were known as a place where “sick” people could go to find healing and a family where the people loved being together.

From what we’ve heard and witnessed, it seems like the same could be said of RCC. May it ever be so. Thanks for being joyful about meeting us and looking forward to serving together.

      Peace.

      George & Denise
